Emerald Floating Offshore Wind Project Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Policy

 

Simply Blue Energy Kinsale Ltd (SBEK) is developing the Emerald floating offshore wind project (the “Project”), to be deployed in the Celtic Sea, south of Cork, Ireland. The Project includes the assembly, deployment, operation, maintenance and eventual decommissioning of wind turbines on floating foundations, as well as associated cabling and onshore support infrastructure.

In delivering this ambitious and innovative Project, SBEK will seek not only to secure exemplary health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance but to set the standard for HSE management on the development of floating offshore wind projects.

Effective HSE management is fundamental and integral to the success of the Project and are core responsibilities of the SBEK management team. To this end, SBEK shall:

  • Pursue the goal of no harm to people
  • Protect the environment
  • Use material and energy efficiently in the provision of products and services
  • Respect one’s neighbours and contribute to the societies in which they operate
  • Develop energy resources, products and services consistent with these aims
  • Play a leading role in promoting best practice in our industries
  • Manage HSE & Social Performance Matters as any other critical business activity
  • Support and advance safety of life at sea
  • Pioneer, promote and invest in a sustainable future
  • Provide a safe and healthy working environment, suitable for all employees, contractors and visitors
  • Encourage a strong and positive health and safety culture through communication, transparency, reporting, training and team participation
  • Promote a culture in which all employees of the company shall share this commitment

Promotion and implementation of this policy is the responsibility of the Project Board. All persons working for or on behalf of the Project are expected to support SBEK in delivering the Project in line with the commitments set out in this policy.
